Southfield Public Schools
Southfield Public Schools (SPS) is a thriving school district with its own specialized marketing and public relations department. As an intern at SPS you will be exposed to a wide-range of public relations experiences. With nearly 8,000 students and 14 schools, SPS provides a numerous opportunities to learn the skills needed to be a successful public relations practitioner. Interns will gain experience in media relations, community marketing, research, public affairs and event management.

Requirements:
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Publisher, InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator preferred
- Good communication skills
- Writing experience preferred
- Punctual, proactive and resourceful work ethic
Responsibilities:
- Various clerical activities
- Media monitoring and media clip compilation
- Database development
- News letter development
- Writing media materials (based on skill level)
- Background research
- Event assistance
- Calendar of events and announcements for SPS TV 16
Experience:
- Multi-tasking on various projects
- Working knowledge of office tools
- Solid writing skills
Required: Potential candidates will need to complete a basic background check (paid for by the district) prior to approval for an internship.
