Looking to increase awareness of your brand, company, services, products, etc.? It all comes down to your story, and a story begins with the words used to tell it… Hence the importance of content marketing. Here are some tips for success:
- Be honest. Consumers and businesses alike can sniff out a lie from the get go. Be truthful when you explain what it is your organization is all about. Speak from the heart and be genuine so that your mission is apparent.
- Have testimonials. Be able to back up your claim. Ask for testimonials from your employees, clients, customers, etc. The more ‘data’ you have, the more you can confidently tell your story.
- Be concise. No one likes a mission statement that drones on. Your tale should be compelling and simple so that people understand what your organization is/does, immediately.
- Be consistent. On every platform your company is on, tell the same story. Tell the same story in bylines, media opportunities, speaking opportunities, etc. I don’t mean to say that you should use the EXACT same words, but your messaging should be consistent so that there is no brand confusion. Stay the course.
By using these tips, you can pave the way towards formulating your story. Once you have the written and spoken words, you can branch out and tell your story on platforms that are appropriate to you (web, blog, YouTube, Instagram etc.).
