MSU PRSSA Chapter Profile

By: Megan Peterson

We love the strength of many, wonderful PRSSA chapters in our state. The Michigan State University (MSU) PRSSA chapter is definitely notable in its strength.

MSU’s PRSSA chapter is nearly 60 members strong and offers many impactful events like agency tours and speakers from all over the country, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and more.

The chapter also makes up its student-run PR firm, Hubbell Connections. The firm was even noted in the PRSSA National digital publication. Twice in years past, 2012 & 2015, the chapter had the honor of winning the Star Chapter Award from PRSSA.

The chapter has a close working relationship with its parent chapter in Lansing, Central Michigan PRSA (CMPRSA). CMPRSA members often serve as mentors to MSU students as well. We’re delighted to work with and alongside these talented students too, while they’re in school and/or if they come to work in the Detroit-area.

We’re proud of you Spartans. Go Green!

Calling all students, Detroit PRSA currently has two scholarship opportunities, each fo $2,000 to go toward tuition. We encourage you all to apply; the deadline is March 31, 2018.

Megan Peterson is a Senior Account Executive at Franco, a national/Detroit chapter member of PRSA, Detroit PRSA blog committee chair and a PR volunteer for The Lake House in St. Clair Shores.
