The 2019 Nancy Skidmore Award for Distinguished Chapter Service

I am so excited to have the opportunity to write my first blog, and coincidentally it is something I know a lot about: the Nancy Skidmore Award for Distinguished Chapter Service. I have the privilege of selecting the winner of this award each year.

In 2017 I awarded it to Karah Davenport for her dedicated work on PRSA Detroit’s website. In 2018 I awarded it to Jamie Morris for putting PRSA Detroit’s
Accreditation (APR) program online– all the preparation and study materials.

You ask–what is this award all about? Well the Nancy Skidmore Award for Distinguished Chapter Service recipient is first and foremost, committed to PRSA Detroit’s enduring strength as a respected and viable institution. He or she has shown long-time dedication and responsibility to the organization and has aided in its consistency to provide quality programming for its members.

This year I am awarding the 2019 Nancy Skidmore Award for Distinguished Chapter Service to Megan Bonelli.

Megan’s consistent and steady work on the PRSA Detroit Blog has been extremely valuable and useful to our members. She has posted a blog every single week this year. More importantly the blog:

  • Connects like-minded members with their fellow PRSA Detroit professionals.
  • Gives PRSA Detroit members a forum to share their expertise.
  • Provides information on our professional organization.
  • Develops and strengthens relationships within PRSA Detroit.
  • Establishes PRSA Detroit as a leader in the PR community.

Congratulations Megan!
