Keep Your Spark Alive! Identifying, Preventing And Overcoming Burnout
August 12, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Join us for a PRSA Detroit virtual program featuring Janet Tyler, APR, President & Founder of True Depth, in Novi, where she actively engages with clients to transform their organizations, their teams, and themselves.
Today’s public relations professional faces unique challenges when it comes to balancing a
focused, productive career, and a healthy, enjoyable personal life. You are tasked with carrying
a heavy workload, under intense pressure to deliver results with limited resources and can be
given unclear or conflicting expectations from clients and colleagues. The lines of professional
and personal life begin to blur.
At the same time, the ever-evolving media landscape and shrinking newsrooms add to the
feeling of “always needing to be on” so that you do not miss that important media interview or
that unique story placement for your client. Doing so keeps you at the top of your game. But not
for long. Keeping the constant “on” button begins to deplete your energy resources.
In this session, learn how to identify the early warning signs of burnout and re-discover joy in
the journey and get back to doing what you love to do.
Janet is a certified executive coach, helping companies and individuals nationwide achieve
their goals. She is a public speaker known for her interactive workshops and presentations on
leadership, stress management, conflict resolution in the workplace, and achieving business
Janet received a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters’ degree in Organizational Communication from
Eastern Michigan University. She is an active member of the Novi Rotary Club, serving on the
board and contributing to youth services outreach.
